University to focus on student enrollment and retention to address budget shortfall - Scott Kraus Idaho State Journal
Idaho State University will focus heavily on student enrollment and retention in its efforts to address the school’s financial challenges, which currently have it spending slightly more than it takes in, said ISU President Kevin Satterlee during his State of the University address on Wednesday at ISU’s Frazier Hall. “If you look at the whole scope of an almost $200 million budget, not by a lot,” he said. “But we now spend more money as an institution than we take in.” But the university can’t talk about its finances until it discusses where its money comes from as an institution, he told about 200 people who attended the nearly hour-long address.
