California’s new budget includes two free years of community college for first-time, full-time students, lawmakers said Monday.That will open up new pathways and opportunities for an estimated 33,000 extra students each year at a cost of $42 million, the governor’s office said. Students said they are mostly excited about the opportunity to take advantage of free tuition, but some said they want to go to a 4-year school.
