UConn trustees endorse budget, plan to close deficits - Kathleen Megan, CT Mirror

The UConn Board of Trustees on Wednesday unanimously approved a $1.33 billion budget for the university’s Storrs and satellite campuses for next year and a $1.13 billion budget for the Farmington-based health center. To balance those budgets, university officials explained, they must close deficits of $19.6 million at UConn and $7.1 million at UConn Health – shortfalls driven by state government’s huge unfunded pension liabilities.
