Florida A&M University President Larry Robinson has ordered an immediate freeze on new hires within the Athletics Department as one step in reducing expenses. Other areas under review are department salaries, travel and examining how to reduce the department’s financial obligations for athletic scholarships. These new developments within the beleaguered department were announced Wednesday during a meeting of the Board of Trustees Special Committee on Athletics.
