Wenatchee Valley College announced Thursday the layoffs of 20 employees due to a $1 million budget shortfall for the current school year. In a statement, President Jim Richardson said this is not a reflection of the employees impacted but that, “the college is faced with many difficult decisions in order to be fiscally responsible and ensure the college’s success and longevity.” Of those laid off, 12 are classified union employees and eight are exempt, non-union. No faculty positions are being affected.
