The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking permission to lay off tenured faculty members. The university will seek "retrenchment status," which would allow it to reduce its faculty once leaders decide which academic programs to cut, Chancellor Christina Drale told University of Arkansas System trustees on Thursday.
