Marshall University plans to reduce pay for some employees; cites budget issues - TIERSA DAVIS, WCHS

Marshall University plans to temporarily reduce pay for some employees, citing budget challenges. The university made the announcement Thursday that President Jerome Gilbert will make a budget reduction proposal to the Board of Governors. The proposal will include freezing vacant positions and cutting state-funded travel and cutting back on campus events. The proposal will save the university $1 million a year. Gilbert said the reductions are necessary to balance the projected decline in enrollment for the 2021 fiscal year due to COVID-19.
