NMSU administrators address reopening, budget cuts - Miranda Cyr, Las Cruces Sun-News

In Thursday’s town hall meeting, New Mexico State University's president and administrative staff assured that students and faculty will have options as the fall semester quickly approaches. Administrators also said that they will do everything they can to avoid layoffs and pay cuts, but it’s still a possibility as the university deals with an 8 to 10 percent budget cut. Students and faculty members will have the option to participate in limited in-person learning or exclusively online learning, according to NMSU President John Floros. “As of today, New Mexico State University will open its doors to the students come fall semester,” Floros said. “(But) don't automatically assume, because we say we’re open, all of you have to come to campus.”
