New Mexico State University faculty members have begun to band together with plans to form a union after NMSU President John Floros said that the number of staff and faculty members needs to become smaller in response to budget cuts. Some faculty members expressed that they felt devalued after Floros said that university employees need to work harder and that they "will keep the best people" during a town hall meeting on Tuesday. "It just shows some of the people in administration are absolutely clueless to how hard we're working and how dedicated we are," said Christa Slaton, NMSU professor and former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. "I can tell you, it just plummeted morale."
