Connecticut union members, professors and students gathered outside the Board of Regents for Higher Education building in Hartford Thursday to protest increased budget cuts to the state’s regional universities. Holding signs plastered with the faces and net worths of Connecticut’s wealthiest residents, they called the budget cuts to the regional universities “austerity measures” and demanded millionaires and billionaires “pay their fair share” of taxes to support public education.
