University Police hit with budget cuts amid pandemic - Destiny Lalonde, Daily Titan

Cal State Fullerton’s University Police Department is one of many areas hit with budget reductions as part of COVID-19’s economic toll. Capt. Scot Willey, the department’s public information officer, said that University Police is already underfunded. He said that while city police agencies can be anywhere from 40-60% of the total city budgets, the University Police makes up less than 1% of Cal State Fullerton’s total budget. “We’re already struggling and scraping and doing what we can just to get by,” Willey said.
