University of Akron expecting smaller drop in enrollment, but stimulus funds boost budget - Jennifer Pignolet, Akron Beacon Journal

The university is anticipating a 4% enrollment drop next year, which, along with a tuition freeze, means about $6.4 million less in revenue for the year. But the university was able to use stimulus funds in this fiscal year, which ends June 30, to offset many expenses and will add about $30 million to its reserves. "That is putting us in a better financial position going into 2022 and poising us for the future," Chief Financial Officer Dallas Grundy said.
