The university has submitted to the state a supplemental budget request for a range of projects that includes IT improvements, infrastructure for security and green energy, construction projects, research and others. The University of Minnesota is asking for a big share of the state's $7.7 billion biennial budget surplus to boost campus safety and student financial aid and to pay for a wide range of facility repairs and academic and research initiatives.
