UW-Madison to keep DEI positions despite $7 million budget cuts by GOP state legislature, report says - JACKSON WALKER, ABC 3340

Campus leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will reportedly not cut the school’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) positions despite demands to do so by Republican lawmakers. UW Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori Reesor announced the decision while speaking at a meeting of the Associated Students of Madison (ASM) Wednesday, according to The Daily Cardinal, the university's student newspaper. She cited current events as a major supporting factor behind the university’s decision.
