College students still fear Fiscal Cliff - KIMT
President Barack Obama signed a bill into law Wednesday that saved the country from falling over the so-called fiscal cliff. But it may be too soon for college students to be celebrating. The deal that ended the fiscal cliff solved some problems for now, but others were put off until March. It did not address the debt ceiling or some other budget cuts that were set to take effect last week but have now been pushed back. Those include cuts to programs such as Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. It is just one example of the cuts that would impact college students. “Title IV Financial Aid, which is the federal financial aid for students will be one of the things on the table to discuss; if they'll leave it alone, if they'll decrease it, increase it,” said Waldorf College Financial Aid Director Duane Polsdofer.
