University presents preliminary budget to Ways and Means Committee - ANDREW LANGE, Purdue Exponent
University officials made the first in a series of budget proposals to the state, setting the trajectory for future university fees and expenses. Purdue University presented its preliminary budget proposal before the Indiana House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday morning, making its case for the University’s 2013-2015 budget. Purdue’s budget, which is approved by the state on a biennial basis, sets the course for the University over the following two fiscal years, and plays an important role in tuition rates. Generally speaking, money not provided by the state is supplemented by tuition and fundraising efforts.
