UNC: Budget cuts mean we can’t clear all the snow on campus - Adam Searing, North Carolina Policy Watch

In an advisory email sent to the UNC-Chapel Hill campus community last night, UNC informed staff and students that: During recent years, Facilities Services, which has primary responsibility for clearing snow on campus walkways, has taken dramatic cuts in operating budgets. Snow response service levels have been reduced to clearing primary entrances and/or ADA accesses only. Translation: We used to clear the sidewalks and other areas, but we are going to start with UNC Hospitals for obvious reasons and do what else we can. This is what happens when you cut tens of millions of dollars out of the budget for one of the backbones of our economy and the institution we founded to preserve our freedom. http://pulse.ncpolicywatch.org/2013/01/25/unc-budget-cuts-mean-we-cant-clear-all-the-snow-on-campus/
