Future of Grinnell College's 'need-blind' admissions uncertain - Jens Manuel Krogstad, DesMoines Register
Grinnell College leaders said Saturday that the private school’s budget challenges should be solved by asking some students to borrow more and by boosting fundraising dollars. But for now, the college’s policy of admitting the best students without regard to their ability to pay isn’t changing. Changes approved by a 46-member board of trustees include asking students to take out more loans, and recruiting more students who can pay a greater share of college costs. Another likely change: charging more to international students, the college said.
