Gov. McCrory's Proposed Budget Cuts Could Affect UNC System Campuses - Patrick Wright, News 2

Lawmakers are considering closing one or two campuses in the University of North Carolina system, according to WRAL. Gov. Pat McCrory proposed a $135 million cut in funding for the UNC system in the 2013-2014 budget proposal he introduced Wednesday. Lawmakers, like Sen. Pete Brunstetter, R-Forsyth, co-chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said they were worried about the amount of money going toward higher education--more so than the size of the state's current appropriation. Those lawmakers say they want to trim some of the duplicative programs across UNC campuses. http://www.digtriad.com/news/article/276270/57/Budget-Cuts-Could-Jeopardize-Some--UNC-Campuses
