University of Iowa turnover costs mounting - Vanessa Miller, the Gazette

Since the start of last year, the University of Iowa has said goodbye to at least 20 top administrators — deans, directors and vice presidents — resulting in steep costs for searches to fill the vacancies. A review by The Gazette shows the university has tapped search firms to help replace at least nine departed administrators since the start of 2017, many of whom left this year. Contracts for those firms show total fees and expenses are expected to top $1.5 million. The university has paid three firms a total of about $1.4 million for those nine searches through Aug. 17, according to data reviewed by The Gazette. https://www.thegazette.com/subject/news/education/university-of-iowa-turnover-costs-iowa-city-college-education-20180827
