Emporia State University Athletics faces challenges every year. Last school year it was the Covid pandemic. This year there are still Covid concerns but the big challenge will be scholarship dollars. Emporia State Athletic Director Kent Weiser appeared on the Monday Morning Quarterback and said with University-wide budget cuts the Athletic department also has to make cuts. One area being cut is the scholarship dollars. He said we may not be seeing as many student-athletes from the areas categorized as out of state.
