According to a memo written by UNM controller Elizabeth Metzger on April 8, UNM Athletics was projecting a shortfall of $16.5 million on the revenues side of the ledger. A spreadsheet attached to Metzger’s memo that noted significant revenue losses across campus noted the athletics projection stemmed from “lost ticket revenue multiple sports and additional expenses.”
