An internship program for college undergraduate and graduate students which could ultimately serve as a pipeline for hiring new talent is being studied by Orland Park officials. The program proposes undergrad interns being paid in the range of $11 to $13 an hour, and grad students $12 to $16 an hour, with assignments in departments such as engineering, finance, human resources and information technology. Interns would work a minimum of 20 hours and for grad students the village would ask them to make a minimum commitment of one year with the village, according to George Koczwara, village manager.
