West Virginia University had 'break-even year' after COVID-19 pandemic caused financial hardships - Chris Slater, State Journal

After a whirlwind year full of uncertainty caused by a global pandemic, many would agree there’s nothing wrong with breaking even. Rob Alsop has been vice president of strategic initiatives at West Virginia University since 2017; prior to that, he was a private-sector lawyer before coming to the university in 2014. Alsop spoke of the financial impact that COVID-19 had on WVU, and offered his thoughts for the future. Alsop said WVU’s finances were trending in a “decent fashion” as 2019 was turning into 2020, before the pandemic hit.
