While infrastructure challenges and digital literacy gaps still impede digital equity efforts in many rural parts of America, public and private entities are increasingly looking to new partnerships to bridge the divide. More partnerships are being launched to combat the digital divide, and experts believe these collaborative efforts will continue to be an important part of the solution in rural America. For rural Americans, a Pew Research Center survey conducted in 2021 found only 72 percent say they have access to a broadband Internet connection at home.
