Surely alternatives exist to ASU, UA tuition hikes - Laurie Roberts, The Arizona Republic

Actually, I don't hold the faculty responsible for the requested 32 percent tuition hike at ASU. I hold the Legislature, which has long shortchanged the universities, responsible. And the regents, who I fear will be persuaded to approve this massive "economic recovery surcharge," not fully comprehending the impact on the people they're supposed to serve. And I hold ASU President Michael Crow - and University of Arizona President Robert Shelton, who wants a 30 percent boost - responsible.
