Florida's community colleges have never been under so much pressure to do more with less. And that's bad news for students, some of whom will be shut out this fall. That means the colleges, especially larger ones such as Orlando's Valencia Community College, are in for a big squeeze come fall. Valencia, which projects a 10 to 12 percent spike in fall enrollment, estimates about 3,000 students will be on the outside looking in. That's because the college will not have enough money to hire the additional instructors to teach all the students expected to attend.
