Economy Sends More Students To Branch Campuses - ONN

Enrollment at the regional campuses of state colleges and universities is on the rise. The growth is due to the tough economy making it difficult for some students to afford attending classes at the more expensive main campuses, ONN's Stephanie Mennecke reported. The Firelands College branch of Bowling Green State University is one such regional campus experiencing growth. "Most recently we had record enrollment," said Firelands interim dean Jim Smith. "For fall term, we increased 14 percent. For spring term we increased 21.8 percent."
