State budget woes make college aid scarce - Matt Arado, Daily Herald

Illinois college students will have a harder time securing financial aid this year, but officials at one suburban school say that shouldn't stop students from trying. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission, the agency that runs the state's Monetary Award Program, said Thursday that as many as 130,000 students will be denied state financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year because of budget woes.
