UH Manoa budget cuts to total 6% - Pacific Business News (Honolulu)

The University of Hawaii at Manoa needs to cut spending by an additional $14 million, Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw said in budget update Wednesday. The budget reduction is in addition to an earlier 4 percent cut totaling about $11.6 million and reductions of more than $20 million through reduced services, “holds” on positions and redirection of tuition increases, Hinshaw said. The new cuts add up to a total of 6 percent.
