UNK makes cuts - SARA GIBONEY, Kearney WORLD-HERALD

Eight full-time positions may be cut at the University of Nebraska at Kearney to make up for the state's budget shortfall. Chancellor Doug Kristensen announced proposed budget cuts in a campus wide e-mail sent to faculty and staff Tuesday. "We really are trying to make these cuts so we can still keep the core mission of the university and that's to have good teachers, and this obviously harms our flexibility, but I think we're a good strong institution even with the cuts," Kristensen told the Hub Tuesday.
