Central Washington University administrators received word Wednesday that the university could face a $3 million budget cut after next year’s legislative session — if things go the way Gov. Chris Gregoire is proposing. “She is proposing some cuts that are pretty difficult to swallow,” CWU President James Gaudino said. “She’s proposing to cut pre-natal care, hospice care for the needy; she’s removing families from health insurance roles ... It’s not clear to me the $3 million will be all we see.” Gregoire released her proposal Wednesday, stating she is looking to cut $370 million from public universities.
