University announces formation of steering committee - Andrea Hammer, Purdue News Service

Purdue announced 14 people from various areas of the University who will sit on a steering committee for University budget analysis. In November, the University announced it would look for ways to cut $30 million. This would represent 8 to 10 percent of a portion of the expenditures covered by the University’s general fund, which is largely made up of state appropriations and student fees. Then on Friday, Gov. Mitch Daniels announced state appropriations for Indiana’s seven public institutions of higher education would be cut an additional $150 million, about 6 percent of their collective general fund budgets.
