Student leaders from regents universities, including Kansas University, were meeting with legislators Tuesday and trying to convey a simple message: “No more cuts.” “We truly just can’t take it anymore,” said Zach Gearhart, who is student body president at Wichita State University and chairman of the Student Advisory Council. The students said recent cuts of 12 percent, or more than $100 million to higher education have led to larger classes, fewer course offerings, and and a decrease in campus jobs for students.
