U of I Extension may see layoffs - CATHARINE SCHAIDLE, Peoria JOURNAL STAR

With a projected funding shortfall of up to $5 million next year, the University of Illinois Extension is looking at a major reorganization which may include office closings and layoffs. "The severity of the financial situation of the state, and consequently extension, requires that this not be a Band-Aid procedure, but rather a major surgery," said Robert Hoeft, interim associate dean for extension, in a letter.
