76 SJSU Employees Get Layoff NoticesSAN JOSE (BCN) - CBS 5

Seventy-six employees at San Jose State University received layoff notices Thursday, and 48 more will be reassigned to different positions, university spokeswoman Pat Harris said. "There are employees finding out right now that they're the ones getting laid off," Harris said around 3 p.m. Thursday, adding that they started handing out letters at 10 a.m. The university hopes the staff reduction will help reduce their $18 million projected budget shortfall for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
