College considers selling buildings - DIANE LEDERMAN, the Republican

Smith College is considering whether to sell, rent or demolish residence halls and other buildings to help reduce the college's budget. The proposal to let go of more than 20 of its 111 properties was discussed with the campus community at a forum last week. The Cambridge planning firm of Bruner/Cott compiled a list of the buildings that the college could consider either selling, renting, leasing or demolishing as a way to save money.
