U of Calgary students brace for fee hikes - Jamie Komarnicki, Calgary Herald

As questions linger over how the University of Calgary plans to balance its books, the school's board of governors is set to release a tough budget Monday -- including a controversial non-academic fee hike that would see students add roughly $4 million to university coffers next year, student leaders say. Budget deliberations come just days after Advanced Education Minister Doug Horner rejected the majority of the U of C's proposed market modifier tuition fee hikes that would have brought in about $2.5 million in the upcoming school year.
