Ohio University proposes tuition increase, cuts - Encarnacion Pyle, Columbus Dispatch

Ohio University tuition, fees, and room and board would cost another $536 next school year under proposed increases that President Roderick J. McDavis unveiled today. He is recommending a 3.5 percent increase in tuition and fees, a 2.5 percent hike in room charges and a 2 percent increase for meal plans for undergraduates who are from Ohio. Currently, OU students pay about $18,624 for all of those charges combined; the total would climb to about $19,160.
McDavis also is recommending cutting $13.75 million from the fiscal 2011 budget - a proposal that would preserve most full-time faculty positions and scholarships but cut some staff positions and other services.
