Report reveals deficit, dissatisfied students - Randall Denley, The Ottawa Citizen
According to an internal report, the university faces significant deficits, its much-vaunted new focus on research is not financially sustainable and its students are seriously dissatisfied with what the university offers. A panel of financial experts and university board of governors members chaired by high-profile University of Ottawa management professor David Zussman was asked to provide solutions to an anticipated $25-million budget shortfall next year. After months of research and consultation, the panel concluded that the university needs more than budget adjustments. Fundamental changes must be made if the university is to avoid deficits and improve student satisfaction.
