Stony Brook Southampton students protest cuts to Shinnecock Hills campus - Will James, 27 East

About 100 students attending Stony Brook Southampton gathered in the parking lot of the Kohl’s in Rocky Point early Monday morning and, at 7:15 a.m., set off marching, two-by-two, down Route 25A. Their destination: Stony Brook University’s main campus, 12 miles to the west. Their mission: to keep their fledgling satellite campus in Shinnecock Hills from closing.
