Three administrators at College of the Desert are leaving the school as part of budget cuts - My Desert

The college cut five management positions total — two were already vacant — for an annual savings of $469,000, Vice President of Business Affairs Edwin Deas said. The move is part of COD's “strategic leadership downsizing” plan, he said. “We're pretty much determined to try to not reduce any more of the academic offerings,” COD President Jerry Patton said. “(We're) having to look at other alternatives for budget reductions.” College of the Desert has cut more than 100 classes for 2009-10 and eliminated most summer classes and all of winter intersession.
