The Long Beach City College Board of Trustees tonight may vote to eliminate 21 non-teaching positions, LBCC officials said Monday. In addition to the 21 eliminated positions - some of which are part-time - the board also may reduce the hours or workload of four other positions to save $1.4 million. LBCC Superintendent-President Eloy Oakley said that in deciding which employees to lay off, the college looked at which departments could be reduced and still provide student services afterward, although at a reduced level.
