New Univ. of Illinois president facing $375 million budget gap - KMOX

Gov. Pat Quinn recognizes the difficulty facing the new president of the University of Illinois . University of Connecticut President Michael J. Hogan will take over at Illinois on July 1, and the governor says he understands the challenge facing the new president. “It’s not an easy job. It’s no different than being governor of Illinois ,” Quinn said Sunday in Chicago . “I inherited a very large budget deficit of billions and billions of dollars, but we don’t just throw up our hands and give up.”
