With tuition continuing its skyward climb at the University of Virginia and colleges across the country, students such as Audsley Dunavant are growing worried about the squeeze the rising costs are placing on family budgets. On the table is a proposal to raise tuition and mandatory fees by 9.9 percent, or $956, to $10,628 for in-state undergraduate students. Tuition and fees for UVa students from outside Virginia would jump by 6 percent, or $1,902, to $33,574, according to board documents.
