More than 200 State University of New York employees will be either furloughed or laid off in response to the ongoing fiscal crisis, according to memos sent to SUNY employees Tuesday. The cuts will only affect non-union employees at the university system's Albany headquarters. Some university employees are also being laid off, but an exact number of jobs being cut had not been decided on Tuesday, said university spokesman David Belsky. The announcement affects 202 employees. A total of 515 work in the system's administrative offices in Albany.
