College of the Canyons continues to feel the pinch of the state budget crisis as trustees this week approved a tentative $180 million spending plan.“We’re definitely in an era of uncertainty because of the incompetency and dysfunction of Sacramento,” board president Scott Wilk said. The state Legislature has yet to adopt a budget, leaving agencies and school districts across California using projections and assumptions to pass budgets for the 2010-11 fiscal year. For the first time in decades, the community college’s expenses are expected to outpace revenue. The budget outlines 2010-11 revenues at $80,512,297 with expenses hitting $83,876,577.
