UT hands out lay-off notices - Sharia Davis, Toledo Blade

Dozens of employees at the University of Toledo are receiving pink slips.
In a letter to all staff and students, University President Dr. Lloyd Jacobs said the layoffs are necessary in order to pass the University's budget before July 1.
Dr. Jacobs didn't tell us how many employees are going to get laid off, but he says almost every department in the university will be affected. He did mention that some of those employees do work at the University of Toledo Medical Center. In a letter, Dr. Jacobs told his employees that he will make the transition as smooth as possible. He even talked about bumping some of those employees to other positions.
