Ball State president blames lawmakers for low salaries - Associated Press

Ball State University's president has blamed the school's low ranking on faculty salaries on a lack of support among state legislators for funding increases. Jo Ann Gora told the University Senate on Thursday that its faculty salaries have become increasingly less competitive and that legislators are "incredibly unsympathetic." Gora's comments came after she was asked about a national survey that put Ball State's average salary of $85,000 for a full professor in the bottom 5 percent compared with similar schools nationwide.
