FAU students find budget cuts hit home - Scott Travis, Sun Sentinel

College students in Florida are getting a real-world lesson in economics as the effects of $300 million in budget cuts are starting to hit home. Florida International University is deferring some maintenance projects and delaying hiring while the University of Florida has asked its departments to cut about 5 percent from their budgets.
